Food

What dietary restrictions does Loaves accommodate for?
Each week we try to offer at least two vegetarian or vegan options. We also mark each recipe with icons that will show if they are vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free, although we don’t guarantee weekly gluten-free recipes. We also don't process in a gluten-free or nut-free facility. You can always look at the ingredient list, which we include with each recipe, and let us know if you have any questions.
How long does the food stay fresh?
Because different ingredients stay fresh for different amounts of time, we suggest cooking meal kits within four to five days of pickup.
What kind of cooking equipment and/or ingredients would I need?
Not much! We only require 2 burners, 2 pots, a knife, a cooking utensil (we recommend a big spoon), a measuring cup for measuring water, and some pantry staples: cooking oil, salt, and pepper.

Some other kitchen equipment that would be very helpful include a frying pan, a microwave, and additional cooking utensils, including tongs or cooking chopsticks and a spatula.

Subscriptions

What if I don’t like the options on a weekly menu?
If only a couple of them look good to you (or one just looks particularly good) you can always choose to receive several of the same menu item on any given week. If none of them look very enticing, we’d encourage you to try something new! We test each of our recipes a lot to make sure they are tasty. If you really don’t want to eat anything from that week’s menu, you can always pause your subscription.
Why are there only options to cook for two people?
To streamline our production and keep costs low for you, we've created as simple a product as possible. Are you interested in a differently-sized option? Contact us and let us know!
What should I do if I want to cook for just myself?
We totally get the plight of cooking for one. Our suggestion: save a serving from each meal as leftovers. For instance, if you want to have four meals a week, you can choose the two meal per week plan.
What should I do if I want to cook for 3 people?
Unfortunately, we don’t currently offer a 3 person plan. We have a few suggestions:
  1. If you don’t mind having some leftovers for the rest of the week, you can always just sign up for our 4-person plan!
  2. You could also choose the 4 person plan for 3 meals a week, and for a fourth meal, you could have a leftovers meal and each person can have their favorites! A lot of our recipes taste better as leftovers, when the flavors have more time to mature.
What if I want to cook for more than 4 people?
Right now, we don't have any plans for more than 4 people. If you'd like to see plans for more than 4 people, please let us know by contacting us. We'd love to hear from you.
When is the deadline for picking a menu?
We ask that you select your menu items by 11:59 PM PST the Saturday before your pickup. That's also when you'll be billed for your order each week.
What if I miss the deadline for selecting a menu or forget to make my menu selection?
We will choose your meals for you. If you anticipate missing a week or more, please pause your subscription.
What do I do if I didn’t like a dish?
We’re sorry if you didn’t enjoy a dish! We’d love to hear about what you didn’t enjoy. You can leave us feedback on recipes here, or contact us directly if you have any other concerns.
Are there kids menus?
We currently aren’t planning on offering special kids menus or kids portions.
How can I make suggestions for your menu?
If you have any suggestions (or even a recipe you’d like us to try!) you can let us on know on our contact page.
What if my delivery is missing an ingredient?
We apologize! If your delivery is missing an ingredient, please let us know by contacting us. We’ll let you know what to buy in order to complete your meal kit and try our best to make it right.
How often do you repeat meals?
Often! We believe that great home cooking is about familiarity, and cooking recipes a couple times will allow you to practice and add your own flair. Some might be repeated every 3-4 weeks, and others less often, depending on the popularity of each dish. Have a dish you’d like to see more? Let us know by contacting us!

Pickups

What if I can’t make my pickup window?
If you know you can’t make your pickup window, you can pause your subscription, or have a friend pick it up for you. Once we have more than one pickup window, you'll have the option of switching between pickup windows on any given week.
Do I have to pick up at the same time and location each week?
No! We set a default pickup time and location to make things easy for you. You can always set up a one time change to your pickup window or change your default pickup window by contacting us.
Can someone else pick up my meals for me?
Yes! Just let us know ahead of time by sending us the name and phone number of the person who will be picking your meals up for you.
How do I bring the food home?
The meal kits come in easy-to-carry paper bags.

Accounts & Billing

Can I change my plan?
Sure! If you want to change your plan, just let us know by contacting us.
Can I pay without a credit card?
Right now, we’re only able to accept credit card and debit card payments. If you’re unable to pay using these methods, leave us a note and let us know what would work better for you - we’ll try our best to accommodate in the near future!
How do I update my payment information?
If you need to update your payment information, let us know and we’ll get that changed for you.
When am I billed for each pickup?
You’ll be billed at 11:59 PM PST the Saturday before your pickup date.
How can I pause my subscription?
You can pause your subscription by contacting us and letting us know the weeks that you'd like to skip. We'll automatically pause and restart it for you.
How can I cancel my subscription?
We’d hate to see you go, but if you are sure, you can cancel your subscription by letting us know - make sure to let us know by 11:59PM PST the Saturday before your pickup, or we will still bill you for that week's meals!
